Case Studies for Business Students

Electronically from SOAS:

  • Business Source Premier (EBSCO) allows you to select Document Type = Case Study when searching. This will return articles based on case study research; not just case studies that have been developed for teaching.
  • International Business Online contains some cases, produced by Alexander Street Press. Providers of material include the Kellogg School of Management and the Thunderbird Global School of Management (Use On or Off Site links).

Libraries elsewhere:

  • Senate House Library provides access to ABI Inform (Proquest), which contains case study material.
  • At UCL and LSE Libraries, you can access Emerald, which has some case study information.

Case study websites:

  • Aspen Institute of Business allows you to search for a range of case studies, some of which are free to access (includes abstracts for those that are restricted).
  • The Case Centre replaces the European Case Clearing House (ECCH), the largest source of management case studies. This is a recommended starting point for academic staff wishing to find cases for use in their teaching. Students can purchase cases themselves. Students who purchase case studies from packs set up by their lecturers can obtain them for £2.90 (prices correct as of November 2014).
  • Harvard Business School Cases you can order a HBS case study for a fee.
  • Ivey Publishing Cases available to purchase.

  • Stanford Graduate School of Business Case Studies  "Under narrow search", it is possible to search for free to access case studies. Also possible to purchase other studies after viewing abstracts.

Note: Case studies for teaching are not held in the library. They are acquired by the individual department when needed for teaching purposes.

This section provides cases or depositories of cases for use in a classroom setting.
